While Colton and Sydney didn’t meet in person at first, Colton swept her off her feet when he messaged, “Women like you exist?!” on Hinge. After a week of texting, they finally went on their first date at The Muni in Wayzata, Minnesota. Sydney knew Colton was different when he asked intense, probing questions about her faith, politics, values, and opinions—and he sealed the deal with Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.

From there, the two continued going on dates until Colton gathered the courage to ask Dr. Jones for his blessing to officially date Sydney on June 30, 2023. Their relationship grew through gym dates, trying new foods, spending time with friends, and going to church together.

When Sydney was accepted into PA school in Florida, they began 2.5 challenging years of long distance. Though difficult at times, Colton faithfully flew back and forth to Orlando to make the distance feel smaller. Together, they made countless memories exploring Florida—including St. Augustine, Cocoa Beach, Clearwater, Naples, Palm Beach, and more—while Colton supported Sydney through her many exams. During this time, Colton also continued growing the family business back home and became quite the content creator.

In the summer of 2025, the two began discussing wedding plans and looking for rings. While the original plan was to wait until 2027 after Sydney graduated from PA school, they realized life was too short to wait. They decided to move up the timeline, and Colton proposed on November 8, 2025, in Wayzata, Minnesota—the place where it all began on their first date.

Since then, wedding planning has been underway, and Sydney and Colton are preparing their hearts and minds as they look forward to starting their life together—with each other and with the Lord.
